These pieces were written for the service of dedication, by the Archbishop of York Dr. David Hope, of the "pilgrimage" window and sculptures in the retro-quire of Beverley Minster. They are based on the Hymn "Through the night of doubt and sorrow", sung during the service to the tune "Marching" by Martin Shaw.
