Carols for All

The first edition of Carols for All by Ian Higginson contained arrangements of fifteen well-loved carols and was published by Animus Publications in 1996. This is the revised edition that is now published by Parish Publications and distributed exclusively by Banks Music Publications.
This publication now contains twenty carol arrangements that are suitable for Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany and all are designed to be approachable and appropriate for choirs of varying abilities.

Published carol book collections don’t always include actual written out and composed introductions to carols, so, a decision was taken to include some stylish newly composed introductions or fanfares, which would introduce each of the included titles. However, conductors may prefer just to have a normal 'play over' on the organ before the carols, which will of course work just as well.

In addition, Ian Higginson has also 'spiced up' some of his original descants, harmonisations (and in some cases, some specific organ parts that were included in the original book), plus several more have been written for this collection.

It is hoped that choirs and organists of all abilities will find these festive arrangements enjoyable, stimulating and useful for either services or concerts.

"In this volume, Ian Higginson gives a refreshingly new look to many old Christmas favourites, also including material for Advent and Epiphany.

He provides imaginative introductions, fanfares, varied harmonisations and fresh descants, all well within the grasp of church choirs, but still with interest for those of professional and semi-professional status.

It is indeed a rich resource, and I commend it to you most enthusiastically."

Professor Ian Tracey, Cathedral Organist, Liverpool Cathedral.
