There is No Rose is a slow, reflective and melodious a cappella setting of this ever-popular carol. The verses are sung in English and these are interspersed with short refrains which use Latin text. This setting does have some tricky corners in the vocal writing, but choirs find it very rewarding to perform. It is published in the same choral leaflet as Ian Higginson's equally effective and simple setting of 'Love Came down at Christmas', which is beautiful, short and very easy to learn.
