Originally conceived as an organ piece, Sarabande is published as the first movement of A Little Suite by Antony Baldwin.
The majestic nature of the melody and stately pulse give a feeling of grandeur and pomp. This version for recorders maintains all the sonorities originally conceived by the composer.
Separate parts are provided for Soprano 2/Alto 1 and Tenor 1/Alto 2. A powerful section of bass instruments to emulate the original organ pedal part is recommended.
