This is a lively setting of the traditional and much-loved melody of this carol. It is an effective yet not very difficult arrangement with a lively accompaniment, which can be provided by organ, piano or orchestra. There is a rich harmonic texture in the choral part and it includes a descant towards the end of the piece.
