RECORDING: Performed by The Lea Valley WI Singers (recently disbanded)
Tradition attributes the music of this inspirational song to Luigi Cherubini, the eighteenth century Italian-born opera composer, but there is no real evidence.
It is written for three equal parts, so divide the choir into three equally-sized groups, each one having a mixture of both sopranos and altos. This is because all three parts have an almost identical vocal range.
