Mairi's Wedding, (which is also known as The Lewis Bridal Song) is a Scottish folk song that tells the story of guests going to a local wedding. The first verse speaks of the guests travelling to the celebrations; the second verse describes Mairi; the third is a toast for the bride to have plenty of food, warmth and children. In the chorus the guests are dancing "heel for heel and toe for toe". It is suggested that some of the choir do a bit of dancing!
